Cayleigh-Grace is 8 weeks old!!

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Cayleigh-Grace is 8 weeks old already, it just doesn't seem possible. She has really seemed to blossom in the past two days. She has gone from not making any noises and only smiling once in a while to full out "talking" constantly (she is definitely a girl!!) and smiling non stop, as soon as she sees us she gets this huge beautiful smile on her face and then will start cooing and making all sorts of "talking" noises at us. It is so wonderful watching her blossom and come into her own wonderful personality!!

We call this snowsuit her starfish outfit, Dylan said that is what she looks like in it and we totally agree!!

Sesame Street Live!!

We had decided to originally not go to Sesame Street Live due to Cayleigh-Grace being so small, and partly to financial reasons, but thankfully God blessed us with free tickets so we were able join the school on this awesome field trip. The boys were so excited about going, we decided to surprise them with the news Monday night at dinner. They were beyond ecstatic. They had such a wonderful time they wont stop talking about who all they saw at Sesame Street. They loved it!!

Weekend Update

Monday, October 27, 2008

Well Saturday began as a very busy day, Kiale had his first official soccer game. Unfortunately in our rush to leave the house I forgot my camera so not pictures from the game, but I can say that it was very wet a cold. Kiale played 90% of the game I was so proud of him, he did a wonderful job. The only problem he seemed to have was remembering which direction was his goal, but other than that he was awesome!! The teams tied 8-8!

Later that day we went to the Fall Festival at the Methodist Church, where the boys, Dixie and Dylan attend. They had a wonderful time!!

I had to take this picture of Cayleigh-Grace this is Kiale and I's favorite outfit to put her in!! It is just so adorable! We call it her hungry hippo!!

Thursday, October 23, 2008

This is officially one of my favorite baby products, unfortunately I found it on the third time around!! Any pregnant or new mom has to get this. Its the only way I can get Cayleigh-Grace to sleep on her own its wonderful!! Now I just have to get the next size up for when she grows out of the two that I have now.

I Voted! Pictures, Images and Photos

Well I have made my contribution to the upcoming election. I went this morning after I dropped the boys off at school and voted. I definitely prefer to vote early instead of joining the chaos of election day. Now I don't have to worry about braving the crowds or having something happen that day and not being able to. So go VOTE!!!

A pumpkin picking we will go

Monday, October 20, 2008

We took the kids on their first trip to a pumpkin patch on Sunday. I have to admit, I don't remember ever going to one myself, so this was a first for 4 of us. The kids had a wonderful time picking out their perfect pumpkins! Kiale wanted a big one and Colin wanted a small one. Cayleigh-Grace of course got a baby sized one.

Once we got home both Kiales started cleaning out KJ's pumpkin, and big Kiale carved it out for him. Kiale wanted to have a scary faced pumpkin, and he said that Daddy did a good job!! They really enjoyed going to pick out their pumpkins and we loved watching them pick them up and then go and pick different ones. There were so many and they had to hardest time making up their minds on which pumpkins were perfect!!

6-Week Postpartum Appt.

Friday, October 17, 2008

Well Cayleigh-Grace is officially six weeks old. Its horrible how fast time goes by... but that life. She is up to 12lbs 9oz!! She has KJ's weight beat by 2 full months, and Colin's beat by two weeks... Remarkably she still fits into newborn and 0-3months clothes with plenty of room left over, and weight wise she is supposed to have outgrown them by now. I am definitely not complaining though, I don't want her to outgrow her clothes yet. We had such a fun time at my appt. the midwifes at the Birth Center of Gainesville are so amazing and wonderful, and they have such a wonder place in my heart!! As soon as we got there they wanted to put Cayleigh-Grace on the scale and see how much she weighed. They call her their big girl, its so cute! Here are the pictures that I took at the Birth Center (L to R) Nellie the receptionist, Mary Anne - she delivered Cayleigh-Grace, Kristen (in the back) - one of the midwives, June - another midwife, and Zoe - she was my second midwife that assisted in Cayleigh-Grace's birth, and of course Cayleigh-Grace!

I had to take this picture, Cayleigh-Grace the entire time could not stop starring at Mary Anne. She kept smiling at her and would not take her eyes off of her, she is definitely her favorite person there!!
I am very happy I am down to 135, so 32lbs down only 8 more to go, and that was with jeans and everything else on!! Go me!!

first smiles

Cayleigh-Grace started smiling last week, but I was just now able to capture it. Unfortunately due to slow digital cameras I wasn't able to catch her full smile, so this will have to do. You have to love the spit-up that goes along with it!!

Kiale's Soccer Game and Competition

Sunday, October 12, 2008

Kiale had his first soccer game and competition on Saturday. They went through and had a skills competition for all of the kids in his Soccer Academy. He did really well and received a participation medal! The game was very interesting to say the least, all of the kids did really well. Its just a little bit in the humorous side watching 4 & 5 year olds playing soccer, but they all seemed to love it, and I know Kiale really enjoyed it. We loved watching him its amazing how proud you become of your kids even when they are doing to simplest of things.

Kiale's cute song, I just had to share!!

New Pledge of Allegiance

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

This was forwarded to me by a good friend and I had to pass it on!
WRITTEN BY A 15 yr. old SCHOOL KID IN ARIZONA :
New Pledge of Allegiance (TOTALLY AWESOME) ! Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore Because the word 'God' is mentioned.... An amazing child in Arizona wrote the attached New School prayer :
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot;
My soul please take!
Amen

If you aren't ashamed to do this, please pass this on.

Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'

When in doubt... remove the headband!

Our non-biological family was down from Alabama and Tennessee yesterday, we were all very excited to see them since they had not been down since 4th of July. So I got the boys dressed and got Cayleigh-Grace dressed in her pretty dress and her purple headband. Once KS got off of work we headed out to go see our "other family," little did I realize the fun that was going to ensue. The boys were thrilled once we got there b/c the were able to see Tres and Veda who we have not seen since 4th of July so they played the whole time. We all had about 15min. of peace when all hell broke loose, Cayleigh-Grace was screaming, and I am not talking about her usual "yelling" at you that she does, no she was screaming. So we run through the gauntlet of tricks to try to calm the baby, feed, change, rock, pacifier... nothing was working. I manage to get her to be quiet during the prayer for dinner. KS goes to eat since it is obvious by this point that we will have to take turns holding and trying to calm her eating together would be impossible at this point. I manage to get her to eat and as soon as she is finished the screaming starts again, finally it is my turn to eat and KS's turn with her... still screaming. I think it has been probably a good hour of crying by this point, then Alan takes a turn. Still all we hear is crying, he is even laying down in the back room with her trying to calm her down. She won't take her pacifier nothing. We are all a bit frazzled by this point. I finish eating and it is my turn with her again, I have her for about 10min and suddenly I think maybe she wants her headband off, maybe it is hurting her. I remove the headband and what happens....... silence! Thank heavens!! If only I had thought of that an hour and a half before!! Oh well, that just goes with the fun of parenthood. So note to self:

1. Do not ever put the purple headband on her again!
2. Try taking off the headband if she wont start crying and she has one on!!

Other than that the evening was wonderful!

101' degrees and I quit counting...

For some very strange reason yesterday my body decided that it wanted to get sick and run a fever. Did I ever mention how annoying it is to be running a fever of 101 and have a 5 year old, a 3.5 year old, and a newborn to take care of!! NOT FUN!! Thankfully the boys played PlayDoh and puzzles for most of the afternoon (my fever didn't start until 1:00). Cayleigh-Grace on the other hand decided that she wanted to scream on and off, more on then off though, for about 2.5 hours. Add that to bad chills and body aches and you can imagine how my afternoon went. Thankfully KS was home at 6:00 and took over from there, including going grocery shopping (with Kiale) and cooking dinner for all of us. Once 9:00 rolled around I decided that I didn't need to be superwoman and let the fever run its course. I took three Tylenol and it finally broke around 10ish I guess.

I did manage to take this awesome picture of Cayleigh-Grace earlier in the day of her holding her head up. I cannot believe how strong she is getting, granted she was holding her head up from the time she came out, but I didn't realize she could hold her head up that well for as long as she did. She was probably holding her head up for a good 3-4 min before she started bobbing around.

A second... or third attempt.

Sunday, October 5, 2008

Well once again I am going to try my hand a blogging. I enjoy reading so many of my friends blogs and am a loyal and daily follower to several. I have tried several times and have failed at each attempt to continue to keep up with the blogging, although I have no trouble keeping up my MySpace account (go figure!). So here I go again, maybe this time I will find success and be able to keep this blog up and going... and current (there's a novel idea).
