Deployment Goals

I have two main deployment goals to begin working towards:

1.Getting my Childbirth Educator certification.
2.Getting my Lactation Consultant certification.  

       I fully realize that these two goals could very well take a couple of years to accomplish, but it is something that I would like to begin working towards. Cayleigh-Grace is not going to be home with me forever, she will be starting school the year we move and I would like to be prepared to get a job while the she and the boys are in school. 

Then there are the many smaller and less life changing goals that I hope to accomplish.

1. complete the many quilts that I have in various stages of completion.
2. Make the quilts that I have had the material to make for the past couple of years.
3. Go to the Gym on an almost daily basis. 
4. Join a Pilates, and an Ultimate Ab class.  
5. Work on cardio and strength training big time. 
6. Work on creating a nice garden area around the house and in the back yard. 
7. Read at least 52 books while KS is gone. (So far I have already read 4) Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.
8. Purchase Cayleigh-Grace's new dresser as well as a headboard or full bed frame for KS and I's bed.
9. Work on my photography. 
10. Research becoming a doula. 
11. Sell our house back home. 

Knowing me I will be continuously adding to this list as the time goes on, but this is a good starting point. I am actually looking forward to going through this list month by month to see how it will grow and to watch myself mark things off bit by bit.

• I have four posts in draft that are almost finished (actual decent posts that are about something rather then random bullet points).
• Countless "picture of" posts that are not even almost close to being done. 
• Everyone is healthy and has been for a week. 
• I thank God everyday for Skype and Email.
• CYS registration is complete... well minus orientation, one of which I missed today. It helps if the lady tells you AM or PM when she says be there at 7 tomorrow. I assumed she meant PM... well, we all know what assuming gets you.
• I went to counseling last week, Kiale also went to counseling last week. Gotta love the Military Family and Life Consultants.
• New schedules around the house have changed this house from chaos to peace... well as peaceful as possible with 3 kids and a deployed husband.
• Lots of sewing projects in the works. Now if I can just find the drive to get them started and actually complete them... maybe I should finish the ones I have started first. That might be the better idea. 
• Kiale is finally enjoying reading!!!

Anti Crickets

Sorry for the crickets around here lately we have been pretty dang busy. My grandparents where her Sunday to Monday, and then my MIL was here Thursday and Friday. It was so nice to finally have some family here and to play hostess for a couple of days. Things are going great here. KS really likes his unit and the boys have so many new friends its hard to keep track of all their names.

One thing I have been doing quite a bit of lately is sewing, so much that I finally finished the duvet cover for Cayleigh-Grace's big girl bed. I still have to get the Velcro to finish the opening but other then that it is done and I am so happy with how it has turned out. Next on my sewing to do list is all of the table runners I have the fabric for. I like to buy the charm packs where are 5in squares of fabric that have about 36-42 pieces of fabric from the same line in them. I have the charm packs to do runners for Easter, 4th of July, Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving I just haven't got around to it yet, but hopefully this week I will be able to get started on them. I almost forgot I also made curtains for our kitchen a couple of weeks ago. Both Cayleigh-Grace's duvet cover and my kitchen curtains are by my favorite fabric designer Pat Bravo from Art Gallery Fabrics.

Kitchen Curtains

  We bought a "new to us car" about two weeks ago, it was just too much of a pain in the butt trying to get around post with one automobile especially since KS cant really walk to work here. Well he could, it would just take forever. We spent $1250 on the car and it is great, KS replaced the radiator and the window motor on the drivers side, we aren't even going to bother with the passenger side, now all he has to replace are the CV axles and the mount and it will be good as new.

The boys are doing good in school, Colin is right where he should be and Kiale has finally caught back up. I had a conference with their teachers last week and it was good news all around. Kiale and I's teacher are working close together to try and get his shutting down to a minimum. Plus he had been getting too much help from his classmates so that will be changing on Monday. She will be implementing some new teaching styles with him starting on Monday and going through until Christmas break. We will have another conference then to see how everything is going. We are hoping that this ends the 3-4 hours a night we sometimes spends doing homework and other issues we have been having with Kiale. Colin is reading very well know and his teacher is really proud of him and how he is doing in class.

Overall life here is going great we are totally settled and have made some wonderful friends along the way. We are definitely looking forward to our next three years here and what they will bring us.

Cayleigh-Grace's Toddler Blanket

This is Cayleigh-Grace's toddler blanket that I made for her last week. I love it!! It is by far my favorite of all the blankets that I have made so far. I just cannot wait to actually be able to use it once it finally gets cold here. Our days are still in the mid 80s and it doesn't look like it is going to cool off any time soon either. Global warming my ...... well you get the point, its HOT!! As of right now her blanket stays draped over her toddler chair since it is way to hot to bundle her up in it at this point, but as soon as it finally cools off it will be traveling with us everywhere. The fabric is all Heather Bailey's Freshcut line, it is discontinued now and I am so happy I got my hands on what I did. You can still find quite a bit of it on Etsy and some other online stores, so it hasn't completely disappeared yet.

Window Treatments

Well I made the curtains for my dining room today. We are six months post remodel and I am just now finding material that I love enough to make curtains out of. The fabric is from Moda's Panache line. I am going to use it for a throw blanket as well for our living room.

Nap Time Quilts

This is what I did during nap time today... cannot wait to finish it this weekend. We are going to need it during soccer season! It is going to be about the size of a twin comforter, perfect for our family of 5 during practices, games, and picnics! (not to mention the beach!!) Notice the color theme? =)

Upcoming Baby/Toddler Blankets

This is a sample of my upcoming baby/toddler blankets that I will be working on. They are all from Heather Ross Mendocino Mermaid line which I fell in love with. I cannot wait to get started on these blankets but I am being strong and I am making myself finish the two quilts that I already have started for my shop. Plus I have one baby blanket for a sweet little boy who was do to make his grand appearance into this world about thirty minutes ago that needs to be bound and delivered. I cannot wait to see him!! I also have three large quilts that I need to start, thank goodness school starts on Monday! I can finally sit down and get started and finish all of my projects. The three large quilts are for Christmas presents for family and I cannot wait to see how they are going to turn out.
