Our Christmas Eve was filled with.....
That is right, cleaning the bathroom with his shades on!
Chilling out on the couch getting in some quality Daddy time.
trashing the kitchen... aka baking Santa some yummy cookies!

concentrating hard on which cookie cutter to use,

Eating LOTS of dough when Mommy isn't looking

Our three crazy munchkins!

Our supervisor
I guess he had to make sure we were making them right.

Last Thursday was a big day for our family, we finally got to meet Baby E, our sweet little nephew that lives up north with KS's sister and her husband. We were able to spend five wonderful days with them before they had to fly back home. It was a wonderful weekend complete with Christmas dinner presents, and it was a wonderful few days spending time with family we only get to see one or two times a year.

Our week early Christmas dinner.
First Cousins
The whole crew, minus KS's mom; she was taking the picture for us.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas Eve, we will be spending the day baking cookies, making rice crispy treats, and enjoying time with our family of 5 today. Tomorrow the real fun begins, presents, Christmas movies, and an overall PJ day, plus Kiale is doing all the cooking its going to be delicious! We actually choose not to go home this holiday season, so this makes our first holiday without having somewhere else to go after opening presents Christmas morning. I will say this though, I am already missing my Mom's awesome egg nog coffee.

The Boy's Christmas Parties

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

Going to parties at the kids school always makes for an interesting time for me, and a lot of walking between classes. The boys really enjoyed their parties. Kiale's class enjoyed crafts and tons of food, and Colin's class had a secret Santa gift exchange as well hot nachos!

*Re-post from last November*

Loaded Baked Potato Soup

This happens to be one of KS's favorite soups that I make. It is super easy and only takes about 10 minutes total to make since you are just dicing up a few things and throwing it all in a crock pot to cook throughout the day. Once its finished your house will smell delicious!

potatoes
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup butter (I omitted the butter)
2-3 tsp flour
1/2 tsp salt, pepper, & garlic powder
1/2 pkg real bacon pieces (I used whole packet and I also bought the larger packet)
8oz Monterrey & cheddar cheese ( I used close to 3 cups, If you use a lot of cheddar cheese don't add the extra salt, it tends to get pretty salty.)
14 oz chicken broth (I used 32oz)
1pt heavy cream
1 bunch chives
sour cream

I also added water since we eat so much of the soup in one serving.

enjoy!

I used about 2.5lbs of potatoes and I left the skin on them since we enjoy it. Just dice them up and throw it all in the crock pot all day on low or on high for a few hours and then low if you are starting it later in the afternoon. I also use my immersion blender for a couple of seconds once it is done cooking to make it a little thicker.
