Barnes and Noble's, Nook |
Who has a Nook or a Kindle??? I am wanting to buy something like an IPAD just without spending the major $$$$. The books are much cheaper then buying hard copies and with our moving; I must admit my book collection ways a lot and adds up on our weight limit. I need help and I want hear personal your experiences with these gadgets. I also want something that is still going to work if we end up moving overseas one day.

Amazon's, Kindle |
*update*
The prices on books so far have all matched up the same. Really its coming down to Kindle will work overseas and Nook won't, and the Nook is in color for kids books and the Kindle isn't... this is going to get annoying to figure out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm eager to hear what everyone has to say about this. I love the Nook for the sheer reason they have AMAZING Kate Spade & Lilly Pulitzer covers. Beyond that, I don't know which one to go with myself.
I have a Kindle and got it while we lived overseas. I was able to download the free books from the states and from the UK (we lived in Italy). I LOVE my Kindle, but I've never "played with" a Nook. it's funny, I've found with my friends that the ones who have the Nooks love those and the ones who have Kindles swear by those. But, anyways, for when you do get (one or the other) here is a link with LOTS of free and discounted books: http://blog.booksontheknob.org/ I go on there everyday!!!
i have a kindle and looooove it. i've seen the nook color and it's quite sexy, but i still prefer to read magazines in hard copy. if you mainly read books, the kindle is stellar. and i *think* (but don't hold me to it) that they're the same size, so you could use the absolutely adorable kate spade covers from BN.
happy hunting! :)
I have a kindle and like it, although I have an ipad too and that is mostly what I use when reading books. I don't know much about the nook at all. I just like the kindle's price, I like that you can e-mail from the kindle (not necessarily easily, but you can.), and I'm loyal to amazon.com. I don't think you can go wrong though.
I have the Nook color and I love it! You get a free book every Friday and it is like a mini ipad. The whole thing is a touch screen and you can also put pictures and all that good stuff on there. I would def recommend it!
I haven't tried either, but I'm leaning towards a nook because of the color books for kids.
Thanks for linking up at The Lily Pad!

My husband has a kindle and think it's the best thing since sliced bread. He researches EVERYTHING before he buys so there must be a reason he chose the kindle over the nook. But I can't tell you from personal experience. Good luck and great to see you on the roundup!
We have a Nook Color and we're obsessed! We love it for the magazines... less paper and less clutter. We've also used it as a mini laptop while traveling at hotels... it has a full browser and Wifi. Love it!
I have the original Nook and I love it. Though I want the Nook color bad!! I was able to play with a Kindle recently and I have to say I just love the features that the Nook has over the Kindle. The Kindle has more books available right now but I believe it's only a matter of time before B&N catches up. Also, it's easier to "lend" books wit the Nook than it is with the Kindle. You can lend from the Nook itself whereas you have to go to the computer with the Kindle.
I hope I'm not too late with my opinion! But I would definitely go with the Nook color!
