Deployment Goals

Thursday, February 10, 2011

I have two main deployment goals to begin working towards:

1.Getting my Childbirth Educator certification.
2.Getting my Lactation Consultant certification.
I fully realize that these two goals could very well take a couple of years to accomplish, but it is something that I would like to begin working towards. Cayleigh-Grace is not going to be home with me forever, she will be starting school the year we move and I would like to be prepared to get a job while the she and the boys are in school.

Then there are the many smaller and less life changing goals that I hope to accomplish.
  1. complete the many quilts that I have in various stages of completion.
  2. Make the quilts that I have had the material to make for the past couple of years.
  3. Go to the Gym on an almost daily basis.
  4. Join a Pilates, and an Ultimate Ab class.
  5. Work on cardio and strength training big time.
  6. Work on creating a nice garden area around the house and in the back yard.
  7. Read at least 52 books while KS is gone. (So far I have already read 4) Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.
  8. Purchase Cayleigh-Grace's new dresser as well as a headboard or full bed frame for KS and I's bed.
  9. Work on my photography.
  10. Research becoming a doula.
  11. Sell our house back home.

Knowing me I will be continuously adding to this list as the time goes on, but this is a good starting point. I am actually looking forward to going through this list month by month to see how it will grow and to watch myself mark things off bit by bit.

    My Aqua and Red Fetish

    Tuesday, December 14, 2010

So, my love of aqua and red is catching and moving its way throughout the downstairs part of our house. Here are pictures from our downstairs laundry/bathroom. I just love it!!

I ordered both of these wall decals off of etsy.com and I am really happy with them, I already have a few more in my favorites that I plan on purchasing and placing throughout the house.

I couldn't stand the clutter of all our junk that was taking over the area above the washer and dryer so I went out and bought those white fabric boxes to house it all. I haven't been happy with their white color though and I am debating spray painting them either red or aqua to bring in some more color into the room, there is still way too much white in my opinion, and I am just too lazy to paint now and then have to repaint in three years. I would rather bring in the color in more less permanent ways.

For the artwork on the walls I used fabric from Bonnie and Camille's Bliss line. All I did was order 4 different fat quarters (18x22in of fabric) as well as 4 art canvases which I bought for half off each during one of  Joann's sales. Then with the help of KS... well he did most of it. We stapled them to the canvases with our staple gun and wallah beautiful artwork!

    Decorating & Santa

    Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Well I spent the majority of the day cleaning yesterday and today I am going to get all of our Christmas decorations out so we can decorate tomorrow. Plus I am going to take the kids and attempt Santa pictures this year. The last time we got them done was in 2008, I feel like such a slacker for not getting them done last year but I guess I just forgot with KS being gone and everything. I know why Easter Bunny pictures didn't happen. She wouldn't go near the thing! Wish us luck today because I really really want to get this picture done this year.

    One of those days...

    Monday, November 22, 2010

You know, those days where you wake up and your house has gone from perfectly clean, swept, moped and dusted to looking like a tornado blew through at a category 3 in the course of 48 hours. Yea, that would be my house right now. Plus the kids are home this week, which is great, it just means I will be cleaning up 3-4 times a day. Which is what I did not do yesterday... note the disaster area. The kids rooms are a mess, I honestly think a category 5 ripped though each of their rooms with an emphasis on Colin's "Transformer Theater Room" as he likes to call it. Hopefully today I can get them to all cooperate and we can get the house cleaned up before lunch time... I will say this though I am loving having them off of school for nine days. It makes me wish summer break would hurry up and get here.

What are your plans for this Thanksgiving weekend? I know we will be with family camped out watching the Florida/FSU game... Go GATORS!!! I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday, and if you will be driving please drive safe.

The Downstairs and 2 Year Old FUN...

    Thursday, October 7, 2010

Well here it is, my downstairs is finally finished... well for the most part.

I had left our downstairs bathroom/laundry room door open earlier this morning and I noticed that Cayleigh-Grace had disappeared in there. The worst part... she was quiet. Anyone with kids knows that silence means trouble, and she didn't disappoint.
