August

Monday, August 2, 2010

I know its a day late but... HAPPY AUGUST everyone!! Wow, I was catching up on the weekends events in blog land when it hit me this could be the last full month we spend in this place. I have to admit I do love it here, yes it started out rough, but what did I expect. This is my first move; I went from living with my parents to moving 13 minutes away when I married KS and now we live 1200+ miles from our families. Even though I have been homesick here and there I love where I live now. I love being away and feeling more grown up. I don't have that sense of dependency I had when we lived back home. As crazy as it may sound I feel like a 25 year old who finally grew up, even though I have been married for seven and a half years with three kids. Who would have guessed some distance was exactly what I needed to boost my confidence and make me feel more adult. I don't rely on people like I did before, and to be honest I don't feel like I rely on anyone, I can get done whatever I need to get done on my own. I don't need someone looking over my shoulder making sure I am doing it right. It is very refreshing to feel this way, but don't get me wrong if something goes wrong or if I need anything Mom and Dad's phones are ringing instantly. No matter how grown up I may feel now I still know that no matter what I can always, and will always go to them whenever I need them and they will do whatever they can to set things right.

Anyways... that was not where I was going with this post today. August... wow. So much will happen within this next month and once September gets here things will really start to get crazy. This month will be full of vacation Bible school for the boys, swimming lessons, and spending as much time with friends as possible before everyone leaves following graduation in September. Not to mention I have already dug out my "moving folder" and my portable filing system. These two things that must be permanently attached to my body during the moving process. Plus school will be starting in just a couple of weeks so we have all the prep for that going on right now. Thank goodness I went ahead and enrolled them at the end of the school year last year so that is one thing I don't have to worry about, although I do have to get their school physicals done before they can start. I finally switch us over to Tricare Prime, we had been on Standard since KS started BCT and I just hadn't got around to switching us over yet, thankfully we haven't even used our insurance since we moved here. KS will have a week in the field playing Rambo with his friends, hopefully they will enjoy it, but with this heat I doubt it. They are going to be miserable. This month is going to fly by I just know it. Soon we will be celebrating our big birthday month, September, I cant believe I will have a 2 year old and a 7 year old very soon. September "should" also be filled with packing and moving... I hope. If we ever get orders... Gotta love the Army's hurry up and wait motto... or is that just the Army wives motto. Either way its the truth!

Day 8...

A photo that makes me angry or sad... well I don't have one that makes me angry or sad really. I do have one that makes me miss my family a lot though. This one was taken while my Dad was driving the kids and our out west. Its really sad to think that it has been almost a full four months since I have seen him or any of my family. So yea, in a way I guess this one does make me sad.

Here and Loving it!!

Hi everyone!!! We finally have internet, actually we got it last week but I have been slacking so I am just now getting to blog again. We have been in our home for two weeks now and I love it. I finally got around to getting the majority of our pictures up and thanks to KS we were unpacked within 3 days of us getting the house. I will say this that man is awesome at unpacking and putting things away. Without him I think I would still be unpacking today. Being with KS again and being a whole family is wonderful no doubt about that. The boys are adjusting great and are both in school now. Cayleigh-Grace is same as usual just blossoming into a little girl now, the baby about her is almost gone. The drive over here went wonderfully thanks to my awesome dad who drove for 12 hours two days straight. The dogs even did great. They were in the crate in the back of the truck for the majority of the time. Overall it was a wonderful trip and it has been a wonderful two weeks in our new home.

On the road

Well we are on our way out west. The movers and packers where here on Tuesday and Wednesday to pack us up and move us out. I must say this entire process of being moved and moving ourselves has gone remarkably smooth. We were able to arrange for the packers and movers to come to our house with only 7 days notice. Both sets of people were great workers and nice people. The actual movers even bought me lunch on Wednesday. I cannot believe that i am sitting here in my truck blogging from my phone. (please ignore spelling and typos) we have 265 miles left to travel today out of almost 700 miles. We will have another almost 700 miles to go tomorrow as well. So far the kids have done great and my dad has been an awesome driver. Hopefully i will be back to my regular blogging schedule after we get settled in the next week or so. I am so thrilled to have my entire family under one roof again. It has been a very long and yet still short 4 months.

Update

Monday, November 30, 2009

Hello everyone!! I am still alive and doing really well! I have finally adjusted to Army wife life, aka a lot of silence and hoping for a break in the silence. I finally received all the info I needed to get my ID, it was wrong. So I had to fax my social and it is in the process of getting corrected. It could take a couple of weeks so I will be lucky if it is finished by the time I go to pick KS up. I want to give you all a big thank you! I can feel your prayers working in my life daily. My spirits have been so high since Thanksgiving (I got a 20min phone call, but more on that later). This is without a shadow of a doubt the life I was meant to live, and I am so excited to live it! I haven't received any letters yet but I know I have at least two on the way. Hopefully I have more than that coming!! Unfortunately I did not hear from him his past Sunday, but its okay no news is good news in my book. At least I know that if he doesn't call all is well and he is busy training to protect his country and family.

Thanksgiving was wonderful. The kids and I woke up and layed around watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade all morning and then the best thing happened, at 12:15 my phone rang. It was KS! We spent the next 20 minutes talking and catching up on everything that has been going on these past couple of weeks. I am thrilled to announce that he is really enjoying himself. He said the Victory Tower was "interesting" and coming from someone who is not all that keen on heights I was just glad that he didn't hate it. I know it will help him to overcome that fear and make him a stronger man. After his phone call the kids and I headed over to my grandparents for a wonderful meal. I can say this my family waits like a big dog waits on a little dog to eat. Everyone had already got their plates by the time the kids and I got there, but I didn't care. I told them I had better things to do than eat, I was talking to my hubby! They all agreed and then drilled me about how he was doing. They are all so happy that he is enjoying himself.

The kids have been out of school since Tuesday at noon so it was bittersweet taking them back to school today. I do miss them when they are away, but Cayleigh-Grace and I got to spend a wonderful morning with my parents going grocery shopping at Walmart. It isn't very often that I actually get to spend time with my parents minus my sisters or the boys so it was a wonderful treat. Plus Daddy bought steamed shrimp to snack on on the way home, yum!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving holiday!
