well...

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

  • I have four posts in draft that are almost finished (actual decent posts that are about something rather then random bullet points).
  • Countless "picture of" posts that are not even almost close to being done.
  • Everyone is healthy and has been for a week.
  • I thank God everyday for Skype and Email.
  • CYS registration is complete... well minus orientation, one of which I missed today. It helps if the lady tells you AM or PM when she says be there at 7 tomorrow. I assumed she meant PM... well, we all know what assuming gets you.
  • I went to counseling last week, Kiale also went to counseling last week. Gotta love the Military Family and Life Consultants.
  • New schedules around the house have changed this house from chaos to peace... well as peaceful as possible with 3 kids and a deployed husband.
  • Lots of sewing projects in the works. Now if I can just find the drive to get them started and actually complete them... maybe I should finish the ones I have started first. That might be the better idea.
  • Kiale is finally enjoying reading!!!

Feelings

Tuesday, February 1, 2011

I cannot help but find myself laughing at people on facebook sometimes. Its not me being mean its just the reaction to the lifestyle that I am growing accustomed to. People will say how they miss their hubbys while they are at work during the day. I totally get that I was the same way, when KS was working I couldn't wait for him to come home. The afternoons and weekends where my favorite parts of the day, and on those special days when he would be home for lunch were made just that much better, but now... now it is totally different. Life is different, it is empty in so many ways. I guess that is really the best way to describe it. You see I am one of those women who loves their husband more then their children. That sounds terrible doesn't it? I promise I love my kids more then life itself and I would lay down my life for them in an instant but it is different with KS, when we wed it was till death do you part. I believe I will always love him more, but that is the way it was meant to be isn't it? If you loved your children more then your spouse, your soul mate, then there would be something seriously wrong with your relationship. When we had our children we knew that eventually they will find loves of their own and start their own lives away from us, have children of their own, and then the cycle will repeat. Children only spend a short amount of time with us, 18 years (give or take a few) it is such a short period of time in contrast to the lifetime I plan to spend with KS, and yes our children with be here long after we are dead and buried. We will love our children every day of our lives, but I do not want my children to be dependent upon me their entire lives. I want them to grow and succeed on their own, without our help. Of course we would help them however they needed it (within reason) but I want them to know that they can survive without us, I do not want their lives to revolve around us to the point where they think they have to depend upon us for everything. Anyways... tangent over... with KS gone there is definitely this part of me that is empty. It is truly the strangest feeling, this feeling of longing, sadness, loving, and emptiness all mixed in together to form one cohesive emotion. The best way to describe it would be that it feels like I have this numbness in my chest that just wont go away. Sometimes I don't notice it as much as others but it is always there. Its strange really. I have a feeling it will magically disappear in about a year when KS is home with us again and this deployment is behind us, but for now it will remain where it is.

Why is it that whenever you have important pictures on your camera disk that you cannot redo it decides to go and screw up on you??? I have two weeks worth of very important pictures on my camera, including the pumpkin patch and carving our pumpkins as well as the football game from a couple of weeks ago. Can I get them off of my card?? NOPE! It is showing my pictures through my camera but it will no upload them onto my computer and I do not know what to do... It keeps saying that I need to format my disk but I do not want to do that since it will wipe out those pictures... HELP!! Yeah for Homebirth!!!

Friday, October 9, 2009

The first Duggar grandchild is here and it was a home birth!! Such a wonderful way to get the idea of home birthing out there in the media under a good light!! Catch the article from People here. You can catch the Today Show clip here. Notice how they stayed mum on the whole home birth aspect of the sweet baby's arrival... guess they were proven wrong about the horrors of home birthing.

~Where God wants me~

As you might remember, the head of a company survived
9/11 because his son started kindergarten.

Another fellow was alive because it was
His turn to bring donuts.

One woman was late because her
Alarm clock didn't go off in time.

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike
Because of an auto accident.

One of them
Missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take
Time to change.

One's
Car wouldn't start.

One couldn't
Get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man
Who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,
Took the various means to get to work
But before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot.

He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.
That is why he is alive today..

Now when I am
Stuck in traffic ,
Miss an elevator,
Turn back to answer a ringing telephone ...
All the little things that annoy me.
I think to myself,
This is exactly where God wants me to be
At this very moment..

Next time your morning seems to be
Going wrong ,

The children are slow getting dressed,
You can't seem to find the car keys,
You hit every traffic light,
Don't get mad or frustrated;
It May be just that
God is at work watching over you.

May God continue to bless you
With all those annoying little things
And may you remember their possible purpose

I copied this from Married to the Army's blog. I felt it was too beautiful not to share.

Texting While Driving Video

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

This video is causing a lot of stir, but I love it. My family has lost 5 people to traffic accidents and I think texting or even using cell phones without a hands free device is ridiculous. It just shouldn't be done. It is quite graphic, but I think it definitely gets the message across. If my kids were older I would make them sit down and watch it. I honestly believe that any person going to renew or get their first license should have to sit down and watch this video.

I Got One!!

Friday, August 21, 2009

I am beyond ecstatic right now!! I was able to order Cayleigh-Grace one of the custom Baby Be Blessed Dolls!! Hers is one of only 50 that they will be making for their Christmas cart. I am so excited!!! I have been refreshing their site for the past 10 minutes waiting for them to put everything up to buy. I have been wanting to get her one of these dolls since I was pregnant with her but they quit selling the custom ones and they only had a few dolls here and there that were completed to sell and even then they were always sold out.... Did I mention that I am beyond excited!!

This is the doll that I got Cayleigh-Grace it is called Ester Ruth, and she has a headband of course!!

Quick Update

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Cayleigh-Grace is doing MUCH better today. Her eyes have cleared up most of they way, and she only needed one dose of Motrin today. She is back to her happy go lucky self again thankfully. She really had me worried there for a little while.

Summer break is going good. We made an attempt to go to the park this morning, but we were only there for a short time before we had to come home due to the insane heat that we are already experiencing here. Our highs for this weekend are in the triple digits which is just absolutely ridiculous if you ask me.

Well I have to go do some laundry... big Kiale thinks he needs uniforms to be able to go to work tomorrow. I guess that was a hint or something.

God Bless & Goodnight!

An Expensive Week

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

When it rains it pours doesn't it!! My husband has a VERY large air compressor... well guess what decided to break last week, the motor for it. No big deal right, just go buy a new one... well a new motor for it cost $400... not really sure when that purchase is going to happen. Then Sunday my camera broke, to buy my exact camera again is... just guess... another $400 dollars... that is $800 dollars worth of broken stuff in the course of a week. Thankfully KS bought me a new camera last night. Not the same one of course but that's okay I will just be glad to have a camera back again. It is a Kodak EasyShare Z1012 10.1MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom. I am really hoping that I like it, my cousin uses Kodaks as his backup to his professional camera so I really hope I like it. It does have full manual controls which will be nice.

On a lighter note we took the boys to their first Cub Scouts meeting last night. Technically the are both to young but since Kiale's birthday is late (he will be turning 6 when he starts Kindergarten) we will be able to work around it and he will be able to join. Colin is going to have to wait a while to officially join but he will still be able to participate when we go to the meetings. It was really nice last night they had a bonfire and then did a scavenger hunt in the woods. (and did I have a camera to capture their first meeting... NO!) The Kiale is going to be in the Tiger Den, I love all of the different names for the age groups, its so cute!!

I opened up my own Etsy shop today. Their isn't anything in it yet since I do not have a camera as of right now, but when I am able to list some items I will post it on here so everyone can go check it out!! I am really excited about it. I even had a lady offer to buy one of Cayleigh-Grace's hair bows while I was at the mall this weekend, I was so excited!! Hopefully it will go well.

Very cute/funny video, but boy is it true!

Soon to Come

Thursday, April 2, 2009

I should have a wonderful announcement pretty soon, Kiale and I are still discussing it. It will end up having a large impact on our family, but it will be well worth the effort! Please pray that we both come to agreement on this decision.
